Attending the calsses

Our final year classes are going smoothly. What i think is, attending classes is simply wastage of our time and as well as the time of our lecturers. This thing is pointed in the movie 'Beautiful Mind' directed by Ron Howard, a story of an American scientist John Forbes Nash, nobel laureate in economics. In final year, students have to prepare lots and lots of things someone is preparing for GATE, some for CAT or entrance of other Management Institutions, some has to do projects, some has to make himself/herself able to be recruited by some companies with highest salary package. Our institution is so good that keeping these things in mind they have declared Saturday as holiday only for final year students. But only some students are really benefited with this facility. Saturday and Sunday just passes by working on assignments and sleeping. This is fact that at least 20-30percent student in every institution are not serious but, this percentage becomes 5% when they are in their final year. Making attendance compulsory means you need to sit in the classroom forcefully neither you are studying nor doing any other work it is like wasting your time with friends in canteen. A serious student will work anyhow whether in classroom or outside the classroom only getting good percentage does not mean that you are learning. A student who study to secure good marks is worthless he is of no use after study he does not have any practicle knowledge but some good qualities are induced in his thoughts which make him/her little different from others. Similarly student not attending the classes but busy with his/her interesting field will definitely go ahead. Personality in both these students will be different.
I just want that, this attendance should not be compulsory.
